3rd Day - First Concert :)

This day started with a small concert provided by George Sansome playing his amazing Ukelele. We soon packed our cases and walked a few blocks to the Royal Hawaiian Centre to play our first concert to Honolulu, with the hawaiian premiere performance of Phillip Harper's 'Hawaii 5 0' which went down with a few giggles from the locals. We soon returned to the hotel to then change into casuals before meeting students from a high school with amazing music facilities to join them in a marching band rehearsal. Time to chill out in the evening pool side with a domino's pizza for everyone. One busy day.

    Eduardo, last school day today - Fri! Hope you're having top time around there. Have Big Island $'s, don't spend it all at once unless it's on a present for your mother or an xxl pizza! Keep enjoying, only a week to go before Blighty. Love you loads. Father!

    Tom :D yaaaaaaaaay last day of term !!! hope we don't sound too excited, then gotta pack J and D's bags ready for your dads. Huge chocolate cake being bought tonight but more news on that later (it's a secret!!!!!) We all miss you loads xx

    Hi Katie, Lu back today after a very wet action packed few days, she can't wait to get home (& be dry)!
    Dad had to play badders last night to make up the numbers. He still has 6 chicks in the garage, no more have hatched.
    Be very wise with your new found wealth (Big Island Fortune).
    How warm is the sea? Have you actually been in it yet?

    Hi George C..
    Will out on site today surveying some land in Gloucester! Packed him off with wellies and waterproofs at 7.00am!!
    Ed back later today no doubt still wearing the clothes he left home in on Monday.
    I am spending the day packing for Turkey. This may well be our last blog as we are off tomorrow morning.
    Give my love to Clare, Jill and the girls (the mole is fine and may well come to Turkey!!). Helen and Derek will take your tuba if Jill has no room, but if flights are delayed and Helen collects Katie from airport send it with whoever has some room and we will collect it on Sunday.
    Have a fantastic time and enjoy every moment.
    See you on the 1st Aug.

    Just read Nickys email re: Big Island trip, what a shame. Happy for you to use the money for whatever you like, with the exception of $210 worth of burgers and pizza!! Hope the helicopter trip goes ahead, that sounds fantastic.

    Mollie May's last day at primary school and a lovely church service this morning- Mol made a great speech!!! You would have been mortified - it was hilarious when she told the entire congregation that her Yr 2 teacher "blathered on" about fractions and ate too many jam tarts![ And grandma mary was watching too!]
    You can use your Big Island money .
    I was once travel sick in a helicopter......
    The house is very empty and I'm incapable of cooking for only 4 - Alice and Mol have never eaten so many vegs.

    Hope you're having a great time and not too full of chips and coke. Shame about the Big Island trip - have let Nicky know that you can have the money, but suggest you use it for the helicopter trip if that goes ahead. Liz came 1st for her piano solo at the Eisteddford!! Not bad considering she couldn't play 3 weeks ago - obviously your help and tuition paid off. She was really sad leaving Walkwood today, but we told her she will have more fun annoying you at Kingsley.

    Sounds like you're having a great time, Matt and I would love to be with you soaking up the sun and sand! Last day at school for Matt and he got his red tie for next year; and he's thinking of burning his green blazer! Not too sure about that idea! So sorry to hear about big island I know how much you werte looking forward to it, but I've said the money can go towards another trip if Nicky's able to arrange one; missing you lots!

    Hi Matt,
    Dad has spent the last day of his week off being Mum, he was up early washing, cleaning, and cooking. He's done a better job than I usually do so I think he’s got the job permanently. Andrew has been teaching Laura the Poundland challenge and Tom has been working at Greens. He’s there again tomorrow; they are catering for two barbeques so please send him some sunshine. Have a great day at the Polynesian Cultural Centre and take lots of photo’s.

    Hi Polly, sorry to hear about the trip, it's fine for you to have the dollars and if you have any left over you could buy Tom a birthday present! I would love to have seen you playing the Hawaii five-o theme, I really enjoyed it when you played it at the brass course. Miss you lots, love Mum x

    Hi Michael,
    sorry about big island trip, we think the best thing to do is to put money towards another trip, adventure, helicopter ride, surfing lessons etc - you should have enough spending money already for all the other stuff you need. Hershey bars cannot be that expensive!
    Been thinking of you whilst sitting freezing slowly under cloudy skies watching Andrew play cricket - they did win mind!! he played well caught some one out even.
    Nanna and Grandpa are here as well de-frosting them with tea and toast after watching cricket aswell.
    They both say enjoy your experience to the max.
    Andrew is happy now finally broken up from school.

    Hi jack shame about big island trip have let Nicky know
    that you can have money but thought you might want to
    keep it for home as it's your birthday money and you could
    maybe use it for a t.v or dad suggests an e-book. Owen home
    today had a fantastic time processor only stopped working twice.
    The concerts looked like fun send us some of the nice weather
    we could do with some , specially tomorrow rowing to tewkesbury
    and back.

    Hi Polly. I'm happy that you managed a few extra dollars. Be a bit naughty with them and have extra fun. I'm not sure how time is flying for you but here it doesn't seem that you've been away for nearly a week. Rory came to work with me a few days ago.
